Storied Pathways of the Kingdom Coming
Coming Spring 2026 from Cultivating Oaks Press
The Kingdom we were made for is hiding in plain sight.
Our days are filled with must-dos and ought-to-dos, people to love and fires to put out, things that need fixed and circumstances that seem stuck. And always, always there are dishes to be washed.
Yet it is also true that God is filling every crack and crevice of His Creation—including the circumstances of the lives He has given us. Through the seemingly mundane pieces and parts of our everyday lives, God is offering us…Himself.
Our responsibilities and to-do lists are not inherently a distraction from His presence, but a meeting ground with the Risen Christ. Our homes, neighborhoods, and regular routes through town are not merely the fleeting scenes in the background of our lives, but an invitation to know Him and notice the glimmers of His promised Kingdom coming today. As we learn to recognize God’s presence meeting us right where we are, he illuminates the glorious truth that He is gathering up every moment, every longing, every seemingly ordinary detail of our lives into His Great Story of the restoration of all things.
About the Author
A teacher and storyteller at heart, Danielle Mellema writes about welcoming the kingdom of God in our everyday lives and experiencing the presence of the risen Christ in the cracks and crevices of our days. She is a contributing writer for Cultivating Magazine, writer of the monthly newsletter Eyes Toward the Kingdom, and occasional guest host on the Anselm Society’s Believe to See podcast.
She lives in a quirky 125-year-old Victorian house in Colorado Springs, CO, with her husband and four young children. She loves reading and talking about books, exploring her wonderful and weird neighborhood, long conversations on her front porch, and recommending just the right local restaurant to friends (and strangers who did not ask). She is endlessly grateful for the privilege of receiving and releasing the gospel that heals alongside the wonderful people of International Anglican Church, where she serves as churchwarden.
